In 1997, Lydia discovered the two great loves of her life: ceramics and Eric Robinson. While pursuing an Associate’s Degree at Nassau Community College, Lydia formed the foundation that the rest of her life would build upon.

Two years later, Lydia and Eric became The Robinsons. Nearly twenty years after that, their children decided to help them create Robinson Studios.

So, why did it take so long to share Lydia’s talents with the world? Well, it takes a lot of effort to build a career as an art teacher while raising two incredible daughters. Creating art had to take a backseat until life could slow down. Finding a decades old kiln for sale online was the catalyst for the rediscovery of Lydia’s passion.

With an in-house kiln, Lydia has managed to cultivate a unique style that emphasizes shape, pattern, and experimentation. She uses a wide range of clay—from earthenware to porcelain—and a thoughtful hand to create both functional and sculptural works of art.
